Promoting equality and addressing health inequalities are at the heart of our values and this is one of two new roles we are introducing to improve the accessibility of all information and communication.

The role of the Patient Communications & Engagement Assistant is to work with the Patient Communications & Engagement Lead to ensure NBT meets the national NHS Accessible Information Standard in identifying, recording, flagging, sharing and meeting the information and communication support needs of patients, service users, carers and parents, where those needs relate to a disability, impairment or sensory loss.

They will be managed by the Patient Communications & Engagement Lead and oversee the production of patient information, in printed formats and online.

They will support a patient working group, and staff working group to ensure all accessibility needs are met across all our communications channels, including out Electronic Patient Records system.

The postholder will need to be highly credible and confident and be able to work with a wide range of colleagues.
