Would you like to be part of helping us become a more family-friendly force?
We are looking for a volunteer to support the work of our force’s parenting group. The role of this group is to:
  • provide advice and support
  • influence policy and procedure change
  • plan and coordinate keeping in touch events for those on parental leave

The Role

The role of a Parenting Group Volunteer will be to support the Parenting Group with their activity.

Key Responsibilities

Your main tasks as a Parenting Group Volunteer will be to carry out essential administration including recording actions and decisions at meetings and assisting with the planning of keeping in touch events. Group meetings take place during weekday office hours.
You may also be asked to undertake specific projects or research in support of the work of the Parenting Group.

Skills & Experience

You will need to have a desire to make a difference to the working parents/guardians within our organisation.
Ideally you will have some experience of carrying out administrative duties, but this is not as essential as a positive and supportive approach.
Previous experience of organising events would be advantageous, but again this is not essential.

Diversity Statement

We are only as good as our people. It’s really important that our officers and staff can be themselves in the workplace and we know that as an organisation we’ll grow from the variety of thinking, approach and skills that diversity brings; all of which help us deliver a better policing service. We strive to ensure how we deliver our services, provide information and how we recruit is open and accessible to all.

We have multiple staff support groups who help to improve our understanding of minority issues and ensure they are reflected in our work.
