What You Would Do As Our Packaging Engineer

We are recruiting for a Packaging Engineer to be responsible for designing and developing of the best solutions and methods to package our products, whilst achieving the corporate cost efficiency and sustainability objectives.

Reporting into the Procurement Director, you would:

• Design, develop and test packaging solutions that keep products safe and undamaged during transportation (both domestic and international)
• Focus on cost efficiency within packaging and transportation and report cost savings
• Source appropriate and cost-effective packaging solutions by working alongside the relevant UK and international suppliers
• Coordinate and lead continuous improvement activities in both inbound and outbound packaging configurations
• To assess and identify end of life or reusable packaging solutions, ensuring we meet customer and legislative requirements

The Skills And Experience You Need

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven experience of working in a similar role
• Has previously used and understands CAD
• Has knowledge/ experience of global supply chains
• Understands commodity markets and how they impact on overall costs
• Knowledge and experience of using ERP systems
• Is prepared to travel to other ASSA ABLOY sites across the UK and overseas (if required)
