Job Description

Our Brand and Development team are looking for a highly skilled and talented development chef to develop the culinary offering in line with our brand and across a multitude of cuisine styles.

The Role

Working with both ship and shore teams to create exciting and innovative concepts and an exceptional customer proposition. In line with F&B Services Dining Strategy, they will work within a planned development cycle to deliver continuous improvement of the culinary offer, understanding the trade-off between cost, quality and operational constraints

The role of P&O Cruises development chef means you will work across a multitude of cuisine styles across multi brand menu development and implementations, as our aim to deliver exceptional food across a wide range of food concepts onboard our fleet in order to deliver unrivalled holiday happiness to our guests.

Working with a variety of stakeholders both ship and shore teams, the Development Chef will create exciting and innovative concepts and an exceptional customer proposition. This role will allow creativity to blossom, which is a big part in promoting ideation, presentation of these concepts and training skills.

About You

To be a successful Development Chef with P&O Cruises you should have great culinary technical skills and qualifications with multi brand experience at vary levels of food previous cruise experience would be desirable but not essential, menu and recipe development experience, comprehensive knowledge of menu trends and an understanding of the importance of continually evolving the food product onboard.

You should also have an understanding of the various stages of development and the challenges that this brings along the journey from ideation through to implementation

You need to be highly motivated, with excellent communication and presentation skills alongside an eye for detail. You should be able to problem solve and be able to work independently alongside the correct level of assertiveness with strategic planning in order to bring your project work to a successful conclusion, and have good Food Public Health knowledge and IT skills.

You will be based at our CUK Academy development kitchen working as key member of the culinary development team.
