Mitsubishi Chemical in the UK has four operational business areas – Methacrylates, SoarnoL™, Electrolyte and Specialty Polymers and Resins – located throughout the North East and East Yorkshire.
Our manufacturing site located in Billingham, Teesside, is one of the largest producers of Methyl Methacrylate in the world. We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to lead one of the production areas, on our top tier COMAH site.
As the Operations Manager you will lead the area team to safe and stable plant operations and develop and implement the longer-term improvement strategies. Working collaboratively across the organization with the SHE, operations and engineering teams, you will be responsible for SHE performance; delivering the production plan; and cost budgets in your area. You will engage and empower of the team in continuously improving performance in those areas. This is a fast-paced role with changing priorities, but one where your leadership and management expertise will be even more important in making a difference to your team, area and site.
With previous process plant experience, ideally gained on complex hazardous sites, you will be as passionate about safety as we are. Working collaboratively is key to our success and with a focus on delivering results, you should have experience of leading or working within a multi-disciplinary team. With a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical area, you will ideally also have experience of delivering continuous plant operations.
As we develop our succession and talent management plans within Mitsubishi Chemical, there are excellent opportunities for high calibre and passionate individuals to broaden and add to their engineering skills, progressing to more senior manufacturing and broader business focussed roles. With our strong value focus of releasing individual potential, you will have access to personal and professional development, long-term career opportunities as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
