  • Provide robust performance and business management support to the HSS
  • Ensure delivery against robust external and internal performance management targets. This will include supporting clinical teams to receive, understand and interpret their performance data to allow them to use this data to inform practice/service operations.
  • Be responsible for the day to day management and administration of the service area, ensuring that the service is efficient and well co-ordinated.
  • Work with key stakeholders (including service managers, team leaders, clinical and practitioner staff, admin staff, users and carers, external agencies etc) to support their work around service improvement and development.
  • Monitor and respond to fluctuations in performance over time providing early warning to the management team where concerning trends are observed.
  • To utilise skills and structures in other HSS teams to support performance and business management
  • Assist the development, implementation and monitoring of the Directorate Highly Specialist Service
  • Support Management Team members in the development and monitoring of action plans relating to performance, service developments and projects in line with internal, local and national requirements
  • Work with members of the Management Team to build sustainable relationships with other relevant agencies to maximise the Directorates ability to deliver a “first class” service to our service users
  • Collaborate with and support staff on regular feedback/communication with our service users and their carers to test the effectiveness of new initiatives, current provision and opportunities for improving the experience for service users in treatment
  • Assist in the development of governance across the directorate working closely with clinical delivery teams and the support directorates
  • Work with the Service Manager to ensure the continued development of financial and management information systems and controls which achieve and demonstrate cost effective and efficient management of available resources
  • Contribute to the Trust’s and HSS business planning programme to ensure contracts and financial KPIs are met and planned for
  • Contribute to the corporate development of the Trust including attendance on behalf of the directorate at appropriate meetings internally and externally

  • To review service level management documents and clinical reports digesting and reviewing complex information on health care strategy and policy to enable the development of project plans and preparation for reports for senior management and various commissioning meetings
  • To lead on the monitoring of compliance of contracts and facilitate performance management reporting as required, in conjunction with Management Team members and/or Trust Departments
  • To lead the proactive identification and understanding of data, addressing any areas of underperformance or data cleanliness on a monthly basis in order to prepare for quarterly performance reporting. Work with the Management Team and the clinical team to ensure delivery against commissioning plans.
  • To lead on the preparation of performance reporting frameworks for commissioners, and the Trust, in line with contract and national reporting requirements. Coordinate a programme of early monitoring to detect the problem areas and work in partnership with the Management Team and Clinical Lead to ensure performance upturn.
  • To attend meetings and where necessary to represent the senior management team.
  • To take delegated responsibility for the implementation of actions for the Service and monitoring change accordingly.
