As a member of the Centralised Operations team within Finance this role will act as the primary administrator of the firms online banking. The role will manage the online bank systems and be a primary payment approver.

The role

  • Manage the online banking system access rights and account access
  • Device Management and internal Client liaison
  • Be a primary Payments approver (this can be high volume / high value)
  • Gain a strong understanding of payment compliance / fraud prevention / SAR
  • Understand any 3rd party changes to the system and internal requirements
  • Support in Bank Statement management
  • Online setup and access to Deputy accounts
  • Support in the maintenance of the firms Central Register
  • Online Account management
  • Where necessary liaise with the bank’s online helpdesk
  • Support with internal online Bank Transfer approvals
  • Support with Cheque approvals
  • Support with ISO reporting for online access

The firm manages a high volume of payments daily. Each Payment submitted through the in-house payment tool details supporting documentation and all payments must be reviewed for accuracy and in line with the Solicitors Accounts rules. Once payments are in the online banking system a primary payment approver will need to ensure everything is appropriate to the matter, recorded in line with the Solicitors accounts rules and processed in a timely manner.

The banking access must be maintained appropriately and records for ISO maintain.

About you

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification or degree is advantageous
  • 1 – 3 years legal Finance or banking experience

Skills, Abilities, knowledge and experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a banking or compliance role
  • Knowledge of the ‘Solicitors Accounts rules’, ISO and AML a strong advantage
  • Exposure to dealing with or the approval process of online payments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and advise Partners, fee earners and support staff
  • Strong I.T. Skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail
