You will be working 37.5 hours a week at Bradley Complex Care Hospital, within an established Occupational Therapy team in a locked rehab service.

You’ll work alongside the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration Practitioner and the Occupational Therapy team to offer high quality service provision, where there is also scope to develop confidence in autonomous practice. Newly qualified occupational therapists will also be able to enrol into the preceptorship academy to support their transition between newly qualified to a competent and confident practitioner.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload using an evidence-based approach and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. These will provide service users with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
  • Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise service user’s needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis.
  • The OT team follows MOHO (Model of Human Occupation) and will support you in completing MOHO based assessments.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users’ engagement in Occupational Therapy. Ensure accurate and timely records are kept detailing each service user’s progress.
  • Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practise is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards.
  • Contribute to business growth by actively promoting Elysium therapy services in line with the local unit’s business plan.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need
  • Qualification or degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligible for HCPC registration following qualification results, awaiting HCPC registration or have full HCPC registration
  • Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry (desirable).
  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy
