About The Role

We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse to join our team supporting our manufacturing sites in Trafford Park and Tawd (Skelmersdale) working closely with the overall organisation to help improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our staff.

We are looking for a great nurse with the experience and capability to cover a full remit and practice occupational health autonomously.

What You Will Do

In the role of Occupational Health Nurse you will be responsible for carrying out a full range of specialist nurse activities including the management of:

  • Occupational Health ill health/ management referrals
  • Immunisation Programmes
  • Health Screening and Surveillance
  • New starter screening
  • OH direct services.
  • Health Promotion Programmes
  • Management of ad hoc Occupational Health issues
  • Conducting face-to-face, video, or telephone consultations

Who You Are

The idea candidate for this role will be:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Hold an Occupational Health Qualification at a minimum Diploma level with proven post qualification experience, ideally (though not essential) in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • IT literate – competent in use of MS Office including Word and Excel
  • confident, competent and highly motivated with ability to engage others to effect positive health change.
  • have a proactive approach to health care and maintain a visible presence within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast moving manufacturing environment.
  • Work autonomously to meet service levels for medical screenings and consultations.
  • Able to carry out a range of health surveillances and vaccination programmes.
  • Driven to develop excellent working relationships within the organisation.
  • Good organisation skills and be able to take project leadership.
  • Able to work flexibly and undertake occasional travel to different sites
