We are seeking a full time and permanent Process Operator (Production) to join our shift production team at our Skelmersdale converting site, working on a 5-shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights followed by six off - rotating).

About The Role

Responsible for the safe operation of production machinery, manufacturing tissue products according to fixed specifications and standard operating procedures. As a member of a shift team, the Operator will undertake the necessary tasks required to efficiently operate and maintain the manufacturing equipment and process.

What You Will Do

  • Work within Company safety standards with responsibility for others also.
  • Regarding process skills / tasks: Operates process and equipment efficiently, consistently applying the necessary standard to ensure the manufacturing process is under control.
  • Regarding mechanical skills / tasks: Understands the operation and equipment, what it does/how it works. In addition, can carry out cleaning, inspection and lubrication tasks (CIL) and perform simple maintenance tasks.
  • Lead small change overs.
  • Order and prepare raw materials and install them on the machine in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain adequate communication with previous and next shift colleagues as well as other colleagues involved with machine performance.
  • Secure the quality level of the products by regular checking against the product specification, rejecting and blocking where necessary.
  • Maintain optimal housekeeping conditions always.
  • Complete all required documentation and data files during production

Who You Are

We would love to hear from you if you have;

  • Experience in a similar role within an FMCG or fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Good problem solving, planning and organisations skills.
