About The Role

Skelmersdale converting mill is home to 13 converting lines turning semi-finished goods into finished products. The site runs 24/7 with a strong focus on machine reliability, innovation, and sustainability. Some of our market leading brands include Cushelle toilet tissue, Plenty kitchen roll and Tork. All essential everyday products.

As a first line manager you will proactively support our shift teams, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to produce these market leading products to the correct quality and volume on your shift.

What Will You Do

You will be an experienced line manager adept at delivering results through teams of operators and technicians to ensure production targets are exceeded and team performance is maximised.

Practically this means you will coach and develop your team, manage short- and long-term performance and help individuals grow their careers. Occasionally this may result in a difficult conversation.

You will play a key part in ensuring the site meets its key performance indicators and broader objectives with participation in daily briefings ensuring you and your team is up to speed with planned work and current production challenges. With strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to problem solve you will ensure quality and site standards are maintained.

In this role you will work a four on (two 12 hour days / two 12 hour nights), six off continuous shift pattern.

Who You Are

To achieve success in this role you will have:

• Previous experience in a similar industry (FMCG) operating at a similar level
• Proven team leadership experience with accountability for people management and development, safety, and quality
• Knowledge and application of continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong communication skills
• Great problem-solving skills
• Be results driven with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• A strong appreciation for health and safety in the workplace
