TT Electronics’ Bedlington facility north of Newcastle upon Tyne is the home of two TT Electronics divisions; Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Sensors & Specialist Components are leaders in high reliability, high performance and engineered electronic components. Power Electronics provide custom power solutions for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. The team in Bedlington specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for an NPI Lead Engineer to join the Power Electronics division at TT Electronics Bedlington. This role is to work within a team who are responsible for the design & development of new products and sustaining products throughout their life cycle. The design function includes the provision of data to the manufacturing operation to enable the product to be manufactured efficiently, including drawings, BOMs, Routes and instructions.

Key Responsibilities

To lead the NPI team - you will manage the workload, training, personal development and future growth of the team

To manage projects from conception through to production handover and support them to end of life – you progress project through the date process, ensuring compliance to the technical specification and delivery in line with key customer milestones

As the design authority for power products – you will be the key technical point of contact internally and for customers, communicating schedule and technical information

With Your Team You Will
  • design hybrid circuits and multi-chip modules, including PCB layout and mechanical drawings.
  • Control and implementation of engineering change requests.
  • Create and control master data within the SAP EPR system, including materials, BOMs and Routes.
  • Work closely with the operations team, and external suppliers, to ensure prototypes are manufactured and shipped on time.
Core Requirements

A degree, or equivalent experience, in electrical & electronics engineering is preferred, however mechanical engineering will be considered.

The ability to develop, encourage and motivate a team

Desireable Skills And Experience

Project management

Experience in AutoCAD software or similar design tool or PCB layout experience

Familiarity with MIL standards

Experience developing or qualifying products for in the aerospace, defence and/or space sectors
