Reporting to the Network Design & Assurance Manager, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for Network OSS tooling in Gigaclear. The Networks OSS Engineer will be expected to work collaboratively with design and delivery teams to maximise the use of OSS tools and best practices for the management of equipment, operational activities and network services, to support processes such as automation, monitoring, capacity and performance within Networks and will own OSS products and development as part of continuous service improvements. On a technical front, you’ll work closely with colleagues and peers in both Networks and Systems to ensure that Network OSS tools are fit for purpose.If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real difference to rural communities and people who have been left behind for decades by the rest of the UK telecoms market, Gigaclear is the place to be.Key Accountability & ResponsibilitiesTechnical ownership of OSS tools within NetworksSupporting operational teams with the configuration of OSS tools to support fault monitoring, capacity, performance, and logging processesResearch, evaluate, and development of new OSS tools from equipment suppliers and third parties.Support the implementation of automated solutions for Engineering and NOC teamsEnhance and expand the Network OSS tooling capabilities, ensuring a consistent approach across all Operational teamsWork alongside functional testing teams in defining requirements and scope for OSS acceptance tests (integration and upgrades)Key Skills And ExperienceIdeal candidates will have;Hands on experience in OSS tools to support Networks OperationsGood understanding of Fault Monitoring systemsKnowledge in Service AssuranceExperience in building solutions using integrations via SNMP or REST APIs.Have an enquiring and inquisitive approach to their workAlways be willing to learn, research, and develop their skillsHave good written and verbal communication skills, and be able to communicate complex ideas to non-specialistsDesirable:Degree in Engineering related subjectLinux networking stack configuration and managementScripting and software development experienceHave a sound understanding of Ethernet and IP networking in a service provider or enterprise contextProven experience of continuous improvement projects in Telco OSS domainsHere at Gigaclear, we aspire to tackle connectivity inequality and make life more digitally advanced.
