We are currently recruiting a National Account Manager to be based at our Blackburn site with hybrid working.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a tenacious, self-driven individual who has previous commercial/account management experience, ideally within the FMCG sector.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will be customer-facing and managing the account day to day. This will include managing customer forecasts, budgeting, working to continually grow the account commercially and dealing with any problems that may arise.

Working alongside our NPD (New Product Development) team, you’ll ensure that any new product trials and launches run smoothly with little/no hiccups along the way.

As this role includes dealing with forecasts and budgets, you will need to have a good level of numeracy.

What you’ll be doing as a National Account Manager
  • Develop account business plan strategies in accordance with overall sales and company strategy.
  • Deliver account profitability, range and distribution with customers in line with budget targets.
  • Plan and deliver profitable promotional activities at hurdle rates that drive incremental volume.
  • Negotiate to a mutual conclusion, whilst ensuring BBF requirements are met, all commercial deals with the account e.g., price increases
  • Conduct regular reviews of business performance both internally and with the customer.
  • Work closely with Product Manager/Marketing/Technical team in product development and brand/product planning.
  • Deliver forecast with attached commentary aligned with the weekly and S&OP forecasting process.
  • Ensure all administrative requirements/reports are delivered in full and on time.
  • Ensure aged debt is policed and within company acceptable limits.
  • Ensure internal communication to key stakeholders is optimised to deliver company/customer objectives.
  • Identify, analyse and report back into the business’s changing market dynamics that allow insight into strategic decision-making.
