Job Description
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service capability within MITIE’s new Telco Practice division.
  • To carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across the Cornerstone Estate (O2 and Vodafone Cells Sites).
  • To carry out duties in compliance with Mitie Technical Facilities Management Ltd Policies and Procedures.
  • To drive and promote Mitie’s One Code which is integral to our company’s values and behaviours.
  • To perform tasks in a professional manner to a suitable standard to meet both Client and Mitie expectations
  • Compliance with Health and Safety policy/legislation


Main Duties

  • To undertake the installation of electrical systems associated with Cell Site Base Stations.
  • To undertake fault finding and remedial action on electrical systems associated with Cell Site Base Stations.
  • To undertake the Test and Inspection of electrical systems in accordance with statutory regulations associated with Cell Site Base Stations.
  • To attend site meetings or training when required.
  • Willing to travel nationally with frequent overnight stays, as part of the role.
  • To be willing to undertake other duties in line with contract deliverables
  • To co-operate with other Mitie disciplines for the provision of multi-discipline services where required
  • Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration
  • Maximise the use and compliance to the mobile technology (Smartphone)
  • Management of financial procedures & delivery efficiencies
  • Adherence & Promotion of the company & department mission vision & values
  • Assist the site team in ensuring that all Statutory and Legislative requirements are achieved/adhered to for the site
  • To ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to
  • Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client’s representative as and when required.
  • Complete risk assessments and worksheets for works undertaken and obtain authorisation from the Clients representative
  • Requirement to Work at Heights and undertake all courses associated with rooftop safety and access, RF training and first aid.
  • Requirement to work either as part of a team or individually task dependent

Qualifications


You must have the following:

  • C&G 236 Part 1 & 2 or equivalent
  • BS7671 Electrical Regulations 18th edition.
  • C&G 2391 Electrical inspection and Testing.
  • Ideally served a recognised trade training scheme
  • Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as required within the scope of the contract.
  • Experience of working in the mobile telecommunications sector.
  • Experienced in working on rooftop and street works telecoms sites.


Please note, all successful candidates, if not already qualified, will be put through training to reach an approved standard to work safely at height, RF awareness and first aid.

Due to the requirement of the role, all employment is subject to passing a medical assessment that we will arrange in advance.

Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;

Information Security
  • Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures in all activities;
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents;
