Summary

We are looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to join our strong, friendly and motivated staff team, due to the retirement of a long serving member of staff. The hours will be from 11.30am to 1.00pm, Monday to Friday, during term time.

The duties will include setting up the school hall in readiness for lunch, putting out the tables and chairs, cutlery etc. You will then work alongside the MDSAs and other members of staff to provide a safe and happy lunch break for our pupils, which may include serving food to the children. You will need to be aware of food allergies and intolerances, and ensure that high standards of Food Hygiene are maintained at all times. The role will include supervising the children whilst they eat their lunch, and helping to supervise their playtime (outdoors or indoors, weather permitting).

At the end of lunch time you will be responsible for clearing away the lunchtime equipment from the hall and ensuring that the hall is clean and tidy, in readiness for afternoon activities.

Qualities and experience required:-
  • Enjoy working with children;
  • Excellent communication skills, with both children and adults;
  • Self motivated, flexible and reliable;
  • Have an understanding of food allergies and allergens;
  • Have high standards of cleanliness and hygiene;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Be prepared to undertake staff training, e.g. food hygiene, safeguarding etc;
  • Be physically fit enough to set up the hall in readiness for lunchtime and to clear down afterwards.
Brinkworth Earl Danby’s is a split site school, with the younger children located at Dauntsey, SN15 4HU, and the older children at Brinkworth, SN15 5AX. The MDSA post will be based at either one of these sites. If you have a strong preference for which site you wish to work at please mention this when you send in your application.

Hours of work: 7.5 hours per week, Term Time only (11:30am–1:00pm, Monday to Friday). Part Time.
