Job Description
If you’re a Management Consultant with a successful background gained within Consultancy, and a desire to achieve your career potential, read on. Our Infrastructure Financial Institutions Advisory team delivers the highest value Mergers, Acquisitions and Disposals (M&A) services for clients across any form of infrastructure. Although the work is termed “technical”, it is strategic, exceptionally varied and touches organisation design, business planning, market development, commercial management, supply chain improvement, process improvement and asset management.

Whatever your background, you will join an entrepreneurial team that is growing fast. With the Infrastructure Financial Institutions team, you have the chance to be part of building a business, most of our work involves high profile infrastructure assets and our clients are amazing names like Macquarie, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley. Most of our commissions are overseas but managed from the UK and generally working from Arcadis offices or from home. Overseas projects are generally in Europe, but also occasionally in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

The successful candidate should bring some relevant experience, but it is more important that you are creative, have an intellectual approach, and have an excellent command of written English. We are looking for someone who is analytical, able to process and synthesise information quickly and capable of reaching a conclusion. You also need to be a consummate team player, able to appreciate and value the input of your colleagues while occasionally working under extreme time pressure.

The team is an excellent team, is highly supportive, collaborative and diverse in many ways although increasing all of these characteristics is always welcome; the team is recognised in the market for the quality of its people. Beyond expertise in one or more of our core consulting disciplines, you will need a strong intellect, the ability to simplify the highly complex and a talent for showing clients that we have the right solutions to their most pressing issues.
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Highly numerate and analytical (quantitative/ qualitative)
  • Excellent written English but preferably with other European languages (The team is based mainly in the UK and Europe but when consultants gain expertise in a particular asset there is an opportunity for occasionally worldwide travel)
  • Articulate and comfortable participating in discussions at board level
  • Creative problem solvers with good research skills
  • Good time manager who can balance across multiple time-critical projects.
  • Flexible in terms of daily work patterns as M&A work has large peaks and troughs.
  • Experience/ content knowledge and demonstrable track record of delivering business change implementation projects in at least one of the following Infrastructure sectors- Energy (including renewables), utilities, oil and gas or transportation.
  • Content knowledge and practice of at least one of the following expertise areas- business strategy, business planning, economic regulation, asset strategy & management, supply chain management, operational improvement and cost reduction, organisation design, target operating model.
  • Proficient in MS Office
