About The Position-
Arcadis’ Mobility team focuses on Infrastructure assets across Rail, Aviation and Highways. We have an established specialist unit in our Mobility team to support our UK Infrastructure clients achieve value for money and capture benefits by deploying best practice in the development of their major projects and programmes.

As a Project Cost Consultant in this growing team, we are looking for you to be one of our future potential leaders. This role will require expertise and thought leadership across- Cost Planning, Estimating, Benchmarking and Digital. You will be involved in our portfolio of projects and major programmes in this area, including HS2, Lower Thames Crossing, East West Rail, Transpennine Route Upgrade, Northern Powerhouse Rail and many others.

You’ll have a local team of experts with significant skill sets in this area to support you, and a diverse leadership team guiding you on along the way. You’ll have ownership of cost planning and related service delivery on some of the biggest Infrastructure projects in the UK, as well as influence across a nationwide team of people with an interest in advancing this area for Mobility and Infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities-

  • Take responsibility for delivering, managing and reviewing cost planning deliverables on Mobility (Infrastructure) projects and programmes
  • Support in the development of team members to deliver a step change in the volume and level of cost planning capability
  • Provide advice and industry leading technical knowledge to key clients, e.g. HS2, Network Rail, Highways England, etc. by drawing expertise from Arcadis and across the industry to develop fresh propositions and better outcomes
  • Advance the digital agenda in Cost and Commercial with a particular focus on cost planning
  • Connect with a nationwide community of practice in Arcadis to standardise and scale best practice
  • Analyse and review a range of data and documents to collate key themes and trends, using this analysis in conjunction with own knowledge to provide advice and make recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making
  • Take ownership of service delivery for cost planning and associated services
  • Identify and support the capture of new opportunities and revenue for the business
  • Work collaboratively in a virtual team environment - have a growth mindset and the confidence to suggest and implement improvements to how we operate
  • Have a robust and growing understanding of UK Infrastructure, including industry trends and key client plus government objectives
  • Manage relationships with Arcadis contacts, clients and stakeholders to ensure an excellent customer experience


Knowledge And Experience-

  • Understands how to deliver service excellence and to ensure mutually positive outcomes for the client and the business you represent
  • Develops strong relationships
  • Has potential to grow from a practitioner into a subject matter expert and leader
  • Has implemented or planned an improvement to standard working practices using digital tools as a catalyst
  • Understands cost planning, benchmarking and UK Infrastructure, ideally including experience in Rail and Highways projects

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background
  • Degree qualified, 2-1 or equivalent or above in any degree subject
  • MRICS or equivalent chartership with a recognised industry organisation
