Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer? Are you looking to be part of a business as it continues to adapt and move forward on an exciting upward journey?

Based in Tamworth this specialist manufacturing business offers bespoke products to fit their individual customers requirements and has continued their grow throughout the pandemic.

In this standalone role, you will be reporting directly into the Managing Director during this 9-month fixed term opportunity. You will be producing 2D and 3D CAD models of the company’s product range, including general assembly and customer installation drawings by liaising with suppliers and production staff to enable successful design creation.

Please note: this role is a contract role- 9 months.

Responsibilities

Create accurate 3D CAD Models of our current product range
Produce 2D manufacturing, general assembly and customer installation drawings
Develop parametric models to allow for scaled models to be easily generated
Establish a framework for storing and managing CAD files
Produce basic electrical schematics
Produce clear, concise, and detailed bills of materials (BOM)
Create BIM models to share with customers and specifiers
Experience Required

Experience of mechanical CAD modelling methodology
Experience in the use of Solidworks for the creation of both 3D and 2D models
Proficiency in Driveworks (or similar) to create parametric models
Able to work independently and use own initiative
Comfortable conversing with suppliers and production staff to understand product features to enable successful design creation
Qualifications

Degree qualified (or equivalent qualification)
