Randstad are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a client based in Banbury. They are a global company who specialise in manufacturing machinery for the Medical and Pharmaceutical industries.Reporting directly to the Design Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Design: designing of new products and development of existing products.
CAD: create 3D parts and assemblies, produce 2D manufacturing and layout drawings, maintain the CAD database. Product Support: providing technical information to both external and internal customers.
Production Engineering: support the production department during the introduction of new products, development of existing products and any current changes to the existing products.
General Technical Support: communicate and provide technical support internally and externally. Document Control: maintaining new and existing product documentation including ensuring they are up to date.
Continuous Improvements: understand F-CIP process and identify areas for improvements within the product and process(s)Personal attributes - the job-holder will need to demonstrate:

HNC Mechanical & Production Engineering (desirable) Specific Skills
Mechanical design experience - within product development life cycle environment
Practical understanding of product handling - ideally conveyors
Design for assembly / manufacture experience.
Understanding of production engineering.
Understanding of machining and sheet metal manufacturing processes
Understanding of materials and mechanical theory.
CAD (3D &2D), experienced in Solidworks
Experience with Solidworks PDM desirable.
Understanding of Machinery Directive and Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and derived standards.
Generate to drawings to BS 8888
Understanding of continuous improvement
Microsoft Word, Excel
Outlook Email or similar system
This is a full time permanent position, with a salary of £35,000-£40,000 and working hours of 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Friday.
