As a Materials Manager, you will manage the flow of materials, equipment, goods and supplies from suppliers and continuously review and plan requirements for purchasing materials. You will manage the logistics administration, monitor contractual obligations for compliance and participate in the evaluation of vendor performance. You will ensure that materials of the required standard are available at the production facility to meet the requirements of the Bogie and Wheelset overhauls.
You‘ll make a difference by ….
- Preparing detailed material demand planning and associated costs with our procurement function to support the tendering process for new Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls
- Working with respective partners and project managers, you will provide materials management and logistics planning expertise to ensure Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls programs are accurately planned and mobilized
- Liaising with the projects team and fleet operations to achieve optimized project delivery on time to budget
- Working with suppliers, including third party logistics providers to ensure Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls are planned and delivered to schedule
- Providing a proactive procurement support service to the Bogie and Wheelset Overhauls for engineered parts, facilities, all goods and services in accordance with company procedures
- Creation of the overhaul BOM for the project(s)
You’ll success will be grounded by …
- Detailed knowledge of materials and stores management procedures and warranty process
- Good knowledge of IT systems and software
- CIPS Professional diploma in Procurement and Supply preferred
- Project Management experience would be preferred
- Experience in rail materials (preferred), stores management or engineering position
