We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Internal Communications & Employee Engagement Manager to be responsible for Siemens Mobility Limited internal communications strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Communications UKI, you will lead internal communications activity for around 4,500 employees across 70+ sites in the UK, whilst ensuring alignment with the rest of the Siemens Mobility global organisation and the wider eco-system of Siemens AG businesses.

What are your responsibilities

Building and maintaining positive perceptions of Siemens Mobility amongst the UKI workforce:

  • Lead and coordinate execution of major internal communications activity that spans Siemens Mobility Limited
  • Provide counsel on and guidance around specific business unit and central function projects internal communications expertise is required
  • Lead on the internal engagement around key business priority topics such as equality, diversity and inclusion

Engaging employees to improve performance of the business:

  • Lead internal communications for culture and behaviour change campaigns and initiatives
  • Use a multi-channel approach to reach multiple and diverse audiences
  • Find and tells stories that engage and inspire people across the business
  • Champion employee voice through informal and formal methods such as employee surveys, polls, focus groups, employee forums, consultative committees etc.

Positioning the leaders of the business positively with colleagues across Siemens Mobility UKI:

  • Coach and advise senior leadership team and managers to ensure communications interventions support the desired culture and allow for two-way feedback across a disparate workforce

Protecting and enhancing the Siemens brand:

  • Provide clear and effective communications in response to crisis or emergency situations, and subsequent adaptation
  • Develop strong connections across the organisation in order to have a holistic view of activity and find opportunities to bring the organisation together to reduce duplication of effort, increase efficiency and build towards a strong brand narrative
  • Ensure alignment of internal and external messaging within Siemens Mobility UKI and with the global organisation and wider Siemens AG ecosystem
  • Support and lead internal change communications strategies including mergers, acquisitions, carve outs

Promoting best-practice internal communications and employee engagement:

  • Stay connected to and share the latest thinking in internal communications and employee engagement
  • Provide support and advice on best-practice to business units and central functions

Demonstrating the impact of internal communications and employee engagement:

  • Use data and feedback for insight and improvement through tracking the performance of communications channels and campaigns
  • Own the, with clear lines of sight between the business strategy and global Siemens / Siemens Mobility direction

What do you need to qualify for this job

  • Experience of delivering effective internal communications and employee engagement campaigns for large, complex organisations
  • Understanding of how to influence perceptions and behaviours
  • Experience of working with and advising C-suite and senior leaders in an organisation
  • An excellent writer and speaker who is able to adapt their style, and who has an eye for detail and adherence to corporate tone of voice, brand and style
  • Able to work at pace within a changing environment and adapt priorities as the business evolves
  • Empathetic to different audiences and their challenges, and able to work with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • As comfortable with working on strategy as delivery
  • Technologically savvy and able to adopt new systems and technologies with ease and coach and train others to maximise the effectiveness of the channels
  • Able to work under pressure to deliver multiple projects simultaneously, and comfortable with a level of ambiguity and constant change
