This role works with the Mars UK Benefits Manager to understand the scope and intentions of each area and then manage this reporting to that individual. The role actively works with a range of external technical suppliers and many other Mars functions (payroll, P&O, Rewards, S&F) and senior stakeholders (GMs, HR Heads, Finance Heads).

What are we looking for?
  • The role requires a knowledge of benefits.
  • Minimum of 5 years of core UK pensions related experience preferred.
  • You should be an accomplished communicator and have a competent level of numeracy and digital skills.
  • You should have the self-confidence, authority and communication skills to ensure the appropriate engagement and buy in from others.
  • You should be Flexible and adaptable with the ability to recognise when the landscape is changing and different approaches might be needed.
  • You should be keen to use digital tools to drive efficiency, value and insight for processes and tasks involved in the delivery of benefits.
  • Education to degree level is preferred unless the skills can be demonstrated by a successful work/benefits career track record.
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Manage the relationship with our pensions administrators to drive efficiency and purpose.
  • Manage key aspects of Plan governance.
  • Manage life assurance, income protection and healthcare renewals.
  • Own the pensions aspects of our Rewards statements and provide support and guidance to the delivery team as required from time to time.
  • Own the governance of the Communications Working Party.
  • Own the governance of the GDPR framework and other data security measures on behalf of the Plan trustees.
  • Manage the material team budget for external service providers.
  • Own the Mars UK strategy for enrolment and re-enrolment and ensure the various business units understand and operate this correctly (i.e. contractual vs legislative).
  • Support the Benefits Director and UK Benefits Manager on ad hoc project work, as required.
  • Lead projects as requested.
  • Manage pensions high earner and capping processes and member queries.
  • Stay abreast with latest pensions changes and analyse how they impact areas of responsibility or other areas within the team.
  • Manage the relationship and deal with queries between UK Benefits and other Mars teams, including UK Payroll, UK Rewards, UK Associate Relations and UK Occupational Health, bringing in the UK Benefits Manager where necessary.
