About The Job

Working in a team with Patrick Walton our Head of Development Finance Portfolio Management – South and Portfolio Management team, the Specialist PM will play a critical role in ensuring that the residential development schemes that we support are monitored to ensure that they are delivered within time, budget and in line with the approved metrics . You will be joining our experienced team of 25 portfolio managers, who are committed to making positive change in the future delivery of homes into the housing market.

Job Description

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of residential housing schemes, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You’ll be comfortable building an open and transparent relationship with borrowers and supporting them with their operational funding requirements. You will also ensure that risks are appropriately managed which will include, but not limited to, assessing funding/drawdown requests and reviewing the ongoing performance of the transactions within your portfolio done by undertaking close monitoring of the schemes’ financial and delivery risks. This is generally enabled via a combination of face to face site visits with the borrower and the monitoring surveyor, undertaking regular assessments of borrower’s cashflows to ensure that it remains on track and appropriate and reviewing the monitoring surveying reports. In addition to this you will also be responsible for identifying any escalating risks and potentially providing further funding/restructuring to ensure the delivery of homes are not stalled whilst working closely with the internal stakeholders e.g. Risk/Credit team. To this end you will have expertise in managing a portfolio of active housebuilders and proficient at identifying, reporting and ultimately providing solutions for any issues that might arise. You will eventually manage a portfolio of around 12 schemes consisting of borrowers that range in size and experience who will, at times, look to you for support, thought leadership and guidance.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a portfolio management team operating within the residential development space . You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

As an experienced property professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
