About The Job

Homes England are currently undergoing a major transformation to enable us to meet the Government’s target of delivering 300,000 new homes a year.

Working alongside colleagues drawn from the business and DDaT professions including delivery, technology and service design, you will be attached to our Development Directorate, a specialist business unit made up of surveyors, planners, engineers, land buyers, project managers and other development professionals.

The Development Directorate are responsible for acquiring and preparing land and selecting development partners to deliver some of the largest housing projects in the UK, with a focus on driving-up standards of design, sustainability and quality placemaking that creates genuine integrated communities. We are one of the largest landowners in the UK with a portfolio of over 8,800 hectares worth over £1.3 billion and have over 600 projects in progress each year. The scale of delivery is expected to increase significantly over the next two years and we need to transform our culture, systems and processes to support this key business activity.

You’ll Be

Job Description
  • Developing the overall vision, product strategy and roadmap for the directorate in collaboration with business colleagues
  • Providing product ownership within the workstream, directing and supporting product managers and acting as an escalation route for product-related concerns
  • Prioritising work with the business and/or service owners
  • Engaging with stakeholders to promote the workstream both inside and outside the directorate
  • Working with the product management community to manage dependencies, spot opportunities for collaboration and to build capability
  • Ensuring quality in all products and compliance with relevant standards and processes

Responsibilities

Essential Criteria
  • Experience of delivering digital products using agile methodology and user-centred service design practices
  • The ability to bring stakeholders with you by demonstrating the value of agile methodologies through rapid delivery of value that solves real problems
  • An awareness of service standards and technology code of practice in government digital services
  • Experience in capacity planning, forecasting and working with senior stakeholders to understand future demands
  • Experience with the monitoring and reporting of measurable goals and outcomes
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence partners and senior stakeholders
  • Experience defining and using metrics to measure benefits and how to link these to a business case
