Health & Safety Manager – Energy from Waste

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Quality Manager to join an Energy from Waste Power Station in the Sittingbourne, Kent area. The HSQ Manager will be responsible for all matters relating to health, safety & quality across the facility.

As the Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Managing site Health and Safety and promoting a culture of safe working practices
  • Overseeing site audits in relation to ISO 45001 and 18001
  • Investigating and reporting all site incidents and implementing any procedural improvements
  • Liaising with the site management team to discuss any potential breaches or risks to the plant
  • Ensure site compliance with all relevant industry standards and guidelines such as PSSR, LOLER, PUWER and COSHH
  • Other duties as required

To Be Considered For This Role You Should Have

  • A NEBOSH diploma or similar or proven experience in H&S management
  • At least 3 years of experience in the waste management, energy from waste, power, or heavy process industry in a relevant role e.g. HSE Advisor, H&S Engineer, QHSE specialist etc
  • Knowledge of CEMS and awareness of various ISO standards would be ideal – ISO9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations, permit to work and safe systems of work
  • The ability to manage circa 50 contractors during plant shutdowns
