Summary

About the job

It’s an exciting time for the Homes England Affordable Housing Grants team, as we implement plans to invest our £7.4bn Affordable Housing Fund, delivering up to 130,000 much needed affordable homes for sale and rent across the country over the next 5 years.

Job Description

Whilst our day job is to deliver a first class affordable housing investment programme working with our stakeholders and partners, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once, working flexibly to support our wider mission and objectives and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate.

You should be an excellent communicator, able to demonstrate a flair for relationship building and collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners, to identify and drive new business and investment. You will have strong knowledge of the affordable housing sector, strategic housing and delivery issues, and a good understanding of the development process and development economics, together with a wide network in the housing field. As an experienced housing professional, you’ll also be able to demonstrate that you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

ResponsibilitiesThis is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of an incredibly busy fast-paced organisation tasked with helping to solve the housing crisis and making a real difference to the lives of people and to communities.

The Affordable Housing Growth team is looking for a highly motivated individual to support new business development and investment planning for our affordable housing programme in the South East of England. Building and maintaining effective relationships with our partners (including strategic partners, developers, investors, housing associations and local authorities), you will develop investment propositions, identify new opportunities for investment and work strategically to plan and implement interventions in markets and places to best meet local housing need and demand. Although we are all currently working from home, this role will be located within one of our regional hub offices in Bristol or Crawley.
