Atkore Flexicon is a market leading UK manufacturer of Flexible Conduit Products and Solutions. The Flexo Production Department manufactures all metallic conduit to high quality standards includes stainless steel and Galvanised steel conduit solutions and systems. Our range of non-metallic (plastics) and metallic products help to protect cables from end to end, in many diverse markets, from Construction, Rail & Transportation, Utilities, Machinery & Automation / OEM’s and Hazardous Areas to Food Processing and Pharmaceutical.

We are hiring experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join the Maintenance Department in our facility based in Coleshill, Birmingham (B46 1HG).

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for the effective maintenance and repair of all production equipment, buildings and associated services across sites in the Birmingham area.
  • Work in an independent capacity to carry out preventative maintenance on machines/equipment
  • To respond to emergency machine break downs.
  • Ensuring all machines are safe and fit for purpose
  • Installation of new plant, machines and equipment (to include pipe fitting & assisting with electrical installations)
  • Overhaul upkeep and repair of plant and machinery regarding mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults. Machinery includes:
  • CNC Latheso
  • Plastic extrusion machines
  • Injection moulding machines
  • Wickman multi spindle lathes
  • Metal forming machinery
  • Chilled water system and associated equipment.
  • Compressed air system and associated equipment.

Requirements
  • Practical, hands-on experiences as a Maintenance Technician is requirement
  • Relevant Mechanical studies and apprenticeship would be beneficial (NVQ or Technician level)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is a must
  • Experience of general factory buildings maintenance is required
  • Experience of extrusion and injection moulding machines required
  • Experience of metal forming machines is advantageous
  • Ability to read mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic drawings
  • Effective communication – keeping management and relevant parties aware of issues and seeking advice and assistance when required.
  • Able to work on own initiative also be a team player and willing to contribute ideas and suggestions

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 depending on experience plus excellent Benefits
