Full Job Description – Flexo Setter / Operator

The Production Department manufactures Flexible Conduits & Conduit Fittings Solutions to high quality standards.

The role will be integral to the smooth running of the Flexo machines and successful candidates will have

We require a Flexo Setter/Operator to join the production team.
  • Previous setting and operational experiene
  • Experience of operating multiple flexo machine
  • Previous experience of working with conduit
  • An understanding of Quality control and quality standards
  • Awareness and adherence to Health and safety policies and procedures
  • Experience of working with continuous improvement/lean techniques
  • Ability to complete production and quality control documents
  • Ability to use measuring equipment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Self-motivated and willing to go the ‘extra mile’
  • Good standard of English and maths
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor component quality through periodic checking, using the correct gauges, measuring or inspection equipment for the job
  • Maintain the efficient operation of the machine lubrication system by monitoring oil levels and topping up with clean lubricant whenever necessary
  • Loading coils using the Quick-change coiler and able to operate lifting equipment
  • Thread steel strip through form rolls straight and curve guides
  • Able to wind steel strip onto mandrel to produce conduit to the required quality standard
  • Collecting conduit in the machine drum
  • Able to achieve 75% minimum efficiency when running 4 Flexo machines
  • Able to join all types of conduits with welding equipment and transfer conduit into the required storage medium
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times by regularly cleaning the work areas, wiping down machines and keeping floors dry and clean
Working hours / shift pattern

Hours Of Work

Shift A= 6am-2pm Mon- Thurs & 6am-3:30pm Friday

Shift B=10am-6pm Mon-Thurs & 6am-3:30pm Friday

Salary

£11.00 - £13.50 following the completion of training plus shift allowance of £0.32 per hour.
