LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineer | Data Centre Critical Environment | Slough | £55,000.00 per annum

I am currently working in partnership with the worlds leading Facilities Management/Building Service Maintenance provider who excel within the Data Centre Critical Environment Engineering sector. Due to continued growth, they are actively recruiting for 3 x LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineers for their brand-new 40MW capacity Data Centre site in Slough.

There is a career pathway through this vacancy for the successful LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineers who have the ambition/drive to progress as the Data Centre is one of the organisations flagship contracts within their Data Centre Critical Environment division, and the growth plans for the company and the customer are astronomical.

The client I am recruiting for are supporting in other locations (globally), and LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineers who are involved in the contract from the early stages will be best placed for more senior positions when they become available. The vision for this client/customer is that they want to grow both nationally and internationally, and so they are looking for individuals with a growth mindset, visionary, and innovative thinking.

As a LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for working alongside and with a team of Critical Data Centre Shift Engineers, responsible for maintaining equipment including High Voltage and Low Voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, diesel generators, chilled water systems, boilers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, pumps, motors, CRAC units, and power distribution units.

As a LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring the Data Centre plant equipment via a BMS whilst operating the BMS to identify faults and alarms with plant equipment within the Data Centre/Data Halls. As a LVAP Data Centre Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will also be responsible for all Low Voltage switching schedules, planned shutdowns, and black-building tests, and you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of plant equipment and systems, emergency light testing, fire alarm tests, and sprinkler system testing.

You will be responsible for forming part of an integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team, responsible for arranging and managing specialist sub-contractors, issuing permits to work, RAMs, and for updating site E-logbooks.

The Person:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Installations, HVAC, or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a Critical Environment (Data Centre | Hospital | Investment Banking | Pharmaceutical Plant | Defence)
  • Ex-forces (British Army | Royal Air Force | Royal Navy)
  • Presentable with strong communication and strong work ethic
