Logistics Coordinator

Location: Fareham

Are you a proactive individual that has passion for Logistics? Do you have experience in Shipping goods (Import/Export)? Are you looking for a challenging role that could be a great stepping stone in your career? Then this position could be for you.

The Role:

As a Logistics Coordinator you will be supporting Thales by ensuring the timely and cost effective delivery and administration of transports whilst actively supporting the delivery and improvement of the Logistics processes and functions. You would need to be proficient with Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administration support to Thales Digital Identity Security (DIS) UK Limited functions as required
  • Control and support the business systems solutions for Thales Digital Identity Security (DIS) UK – Key user for Oracle
  • To maintain strict control of all security items and liaise with Security Department on all aspects relating to these items. If any discrepancies become apparent report immediately to the Security Department.
  • Preparing goods for dispatch.
  • Management and administration of external storage
  • Sustain and promote Thales Digital Identity Security (DIS) UK Logistic processes, quality standards, and Health and Safety procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Good experience in Shipping of goods(export/import)
  • Experience in a similar role with compliance disciplines, customs matters and knowledge in UK import and export controls in Shipping. Aware of all regulations regarding shipping.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020
  • Strong IT skills. Data is also key for this role you will need to have the ability to analyze data / spreadsheets so being Proficient in Excel is a must.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ideally Oracle
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You will have excellent organisational skills, exceptional customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
  • You will have the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team

In line with Thales’ Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
