Adecco are excited to be working with our client who are a Global Logistics giant that have been providing a premium service to their customers for almost 30 years. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a Logistics Team Leader to join a company that cares about its staff and is growing at a rapid pace.

The successful candidate would be responsible for the below:
  • Assisting colleagues and managers
  • Training and coaching new staff
  • Responding to customer enquiries and providing quotations
  • Ensuring all EU transport requests are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Sourcing and communicating with suppliers,
  • Negotiating best prices with subcontractors
  • Tracking shipments
  • Updating the transport management system and ensuring all admin tasks are completed (POD, POs,)
  • Ensuring clear and accurate communication with the warehouse if applicable
  • Ensuring deadlines are met
  • Liaising with Operations, Accounts and Warehouse
  • First line of escalation of issues
  • Maintenance of system data and its integrity
  • Developing customer relationships
  • Responsible for the key accounts and their KPIs
  • Increasing profit through cost reductions and supplier development
  • Monitoring departmental P&L in line with business targets
  • Support and communicate company strategy
Overall purpose/scope of the role:
  • Ensuring all tasks are undertaken and completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Delivering first class customer service
  • First point of call for advice and escalation
  • Profit maximisation by planning effectively
  • Able to approve annual leave requests
  • Should have knowledge of the entire department with a 12-month training plan to support
Experience:
  • Experience in EU Transport essential (time-critical preferred)
  • MS outlook and MS Office - Knowledge of Word and Excel desired
  • An understanding of KPIs and the importance of monitoring these on a regular basis
  • Working within a fast-paced environment
Personal Competencies:
  • Self-managing with good attention to detail
  • Knowledge in Brexit regulation would be an advantage
  • Highly organised with the ability to remain focused under pressure
  • Must have a good level of English and Maths
  • Must have strong geographical knowledge and zip codes
  • Must be computer literate including MS Office, email, spreadsheets
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities to meet requirements
  • Leading by example with a self-motivated, "can do" approach to achieving requirements & targets
  • Knowledge of a European language would be an advantage
  • Flexible - a "team player"
  • Able to think outside the box and use initiative
  • Strong Leadership and people skills
  • Driven by customer satisfaction and development

40 hours per week
