Salary details: Grade 6, £21,960 - £22,768


Contract Type: Temporary 12 month Contract, Full Time, 37 Hours per week

The Regulation & Enforcement Service are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work within the Trading Standards & Licensing team as a Licensing Practitioner.

The team is responsible for delivering the Council’s licensing functions, ranging from Acupuncture to Zoo licensing. A significant element of the team’s workload relates to taxi licensing and the licensing of premises which sell alcohol and/or provide regulated entertainment.

The ideal candidate will have a range of skills that include:

Proficiency in an administrative and compliance orientated role

Effective communication and mediation skills

Computer literacy, in particular, the use and maintenance of a database

Accuracy and attention to detail

A working knowledge of licensing law and practice is desirable

The duties include the administration of licence applications, establishing eligibility, monitoring compliance and bringing to compliance where appropriate.
