Our client is a market leading global manufacturer and supplier of high performance and innovative cable management solutions for fastening, identifying, insulating, protecting, organising, routing and connecting components in electrical, automotive and data connectivity markets.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity for the right individual to join the central team in a highly visible role. Helping to maintain effective relationships with our customers and suppliers and manage any associated legal risk, they will report directly to the Group Legal Counsel and work closely with the company’s leadership, sales and purchasing teams to provide expert advice on commercial and contractual issues across the UK and Connectivity manufacturing operations. Their work will also involve collaborating with the Legal team across multiple countries on a wide variety of global projects, including ethics and compliance and data privacy risk-mitigation.

This unique and challenging role will interact with senior leaders at Director level and provide a wide range of opportunities for the right individual to develop and grow within a successful global organisation. The role is based in our client’s central office in Crawley, West Sussex (United Kingdom).

The Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to provide commercially orientated, solution-driven legal support on contractual issues across the UK and Connectivity manufacturing operations, helping them to navigate a wide variety of legal issues
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on multifaceted commercial contracts with HellermannTyton’s customers and suppliers
  • Assist the business to resolve contract disputes with customers and suppliers
  • Engage in collaborative working, creative problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Build a strong and trusted relationship with key stakeholders, including sales and purchasing teams, to minimise legal risk
  • Create and maintain template documents and create appropriate guidance notes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in relevant areas of law and contribute to the Legal team’s sharing of best practice and know-how
  • Take an active role in preparing and delivering legal training

Experience & Background

  • A minimum of 3 years’ PQE in a role focused on commercial contracts (obtained either in-house or private practice)
  • A solid grasp of contract law
  • Proven ability to think commercially and apply your legal knowledge in a practical and pragmatic way
  • Familiar with managing stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Able to work autonomously to proactively manage and mitigate legal risk
  • Confidence to challenge decisions and actions when required
  • Able to interact with stakeholders at all levels Business Skills & Knowledge
  • Professional experience with large scale change management projects across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions
  • Strong communicator and proven project management skills (strong planning and follow through)
  • Performs effectively under pressure
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Competent with Powerpoint and Excel
  • Good analytical skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Genuine team player
