Lecturer in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering

Job description

The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to join the team responsible for delivery of modules relating to Aeronautical Engineering.


The School of Engineering is active in research and consultancy and has courses in Aeronautical, Automotive, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, as well as the Built Environment and Lighting and Live Event Technology.


Based at Pontypridd Campus, the successful candidate/s will possess a range of skills necessary to complement and enhance scholarly activity within the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering department, and to assist its growing reputation. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to high quality teaching is paramount.


Duties of the successful candidate would include lecturing in but not limited to teaching control engineering to mechanical and aeronautical engineering students.


As well as academics, we would welcome applications from industrial engineers and can provide the training necessary to complete the required teaching qualifications. The university prides itself on being a teaching focused institute with students at the heart of what we do.


The position is fixed term for 2 years and can be full time or we can offer a job share, and we would welcome applicants interested in working 2 or 3 days per week, please indicate your preferred working pattern on the application form. The successful candidate will report in the first instance to the Head of Subject for Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering liaising with other staff in relation to engineering awards.
