The purpose of this role is to provide technical development expertise for a suite of learning systems in use at The University of Nottingham. In particular internal software development to meet the needs of students and teachers, as well as the integration of third-party software in line with University standards (Student Lifecycle, Enterprise Architecture and ITIL). You will be an expert developer and play a crucial part in extending the technology enhanced learning provision at the University. You will feel that taking a user-centred design approach is important when developing tools and services that meet the diverse needs of our user community

You will be part of a team of software developers within the University’s Learning Technology Section and you will be responsible for programming solutions and the maintenance of services to meet the strategic requirements of the University.

Your remit is to manage assigned development projects for Learning Technology systems such as the Virtual Learning Environment and Online Assessment systems. At the core of the role is developing and maintaining code to support the delivery of these services. You will be an expert in your field with strong development experience and be as comfortable generating new code as you are working to enhance and improve existing code. This is a technical role and requires a high level of technical competence. You will have worked in a software development team and be used to peer review and working to agreed coding standards.

This role is available on a permanent, full time (36.25 hour) basis. Job share arrangements may be considered.
