Overview

The Head Office L&D Manager (Programmes Lead) is responsible for the development and execution of all Head Office Learning & Development Programmes including Induction, Talent, Management, Open and Graduate Programmes. This role is central to driving the “learning for all” and internal succession culture by maximising the effectiveness of our Learning Programmes. This role requires a dynamic mindset and effectives relationship building skills (with both internal clients and external providers) as well as proven facilitation prowess.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop a full programme of induction, at level and next level interventions that help all colleagues develop their careers
  • Deliver and facilitate learning interventions at key points of the learning programmes
  • Manage Third Party providers/associates to ensure high standards and value
  • Ensure all colleagues understand how they can develop their careers and progress
  • Work closely with the Digital Learning Manager to create effective blended programmes
  • Provide guidance to line managers so that they can provide appropriate support to colleagues participating in programmes
  • Be a key driver in creating a culture of learning and innovation
  • Have a hands on approach to create engaging learning programmes that improve succession planning and engagement
  • Actively balance the needs of Screwfix and our colleagues, ensuring colleagues are engaged and skilled in their work whilst ensuring alignment to the growth plan
  • Actively contributing to a culture of Learning at Screwfix
  • Maintaining your expertise and continued professional development
  • Work with experts in other banners providing feedback on colleague experience and trends across the UK business
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Being agile and responsive to the changing needs of the business and colleagues we serve

Required skills & experience

  • Proven record of delivering a variety of L&D programmes (including Induction, Talent, Management, Open, Graduate Programmes).
  • A strong track record in business partnering and consulting with key stakeholders across a complex organisation
  • Strong facilitation capability with colleagues at all levels
  • Able to manage end to end programmes of work consisting of multiple projects, managing priorities and budgets, and act where necessary to prioritise and keep projects on track
  • Experience of owning the overall relationship with a group of 3rd party providers and associates
  • Expert communication skills
  • Innovation and pragmatism, examples of creative solutions that really work
