- We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious Learning and Development Manager to join our team, on a Fixed Term Contract until March 2024
- You will the lead creation, development, and implementation of a bespoke people management training programme for manufacturing and support functions
- You will train, develop, and coach line managers, Team Leaders, and Supervisors in the basics of people management whilst ensuring that standards and expectations are embedded in the business.
- You’ll also be an integral part of the wider HR team, working with colleagues to ensure that our targets and objectives are met
- To work collaboratively across sites in Scotland with the wider HR team to develop bespoke line manager training in line with company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency in implementation and roll out.
- To support the culture of Alexander Dennis by ensuring all training material is in line with the company’s mission, vision, and values
- To work with the wider HR team to understand the training and development needs of line managers, team leaders and supervisors.
- Ensure that budget parameters are adhered to
- To be a part of a team which develops clear performance measurement and drives delivery of KPIs, personally and as a team
- To challenge, coach and advise managers on how to deal with ER issues including performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance in line with HR policy, procedure, legislative requirements, and best practice
- To identify improvement opportunities in L&D for the business, new initiatives, and ways of working which will engage our people
- Analyse, prepare and produce high quality training tools and packs to support learning
- Ensure the privacy of personnel data processed is always maintained, adhering to all legislative requirements under GDPR
- Other duties as reasonably required by the business within the specification of the project
- HR or Business Degree is desirable
- CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning & Development Essential
- Previous, proven experience of learning and development
- Proficient knowledge and application of line management training and development
- Proficient knowledge of employment law and DEI guidelines
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- Excellent training and presentation skills
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- A positive attitude, team spirit, collaborative and motivational operation
- An understanding of data and information sensitivity and confidentiality
- Commercial awareness and business understanding
- Previous experience of working with Trade Unions and Staff Representatives
- Excellent IT skills are essential including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Previous experience of creating bespoke training programmes and delivering training to large groups
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
