Your Dream Role
  • An exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer – Electrical Systems to join our successful, international business.
  • Lead activities to design, develop, verify, and maintain whole vehicle electrical systems, ensuring compliance in global markets.
  • Use your engineering skills to provide technical expertise and guidance to a team of engineers, ensuring that solutions are technically fit for purpose, reliable, serviceable, and meet appropriate legislation.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met and exceed; developing innovative solutions to achieve them through a Systems Engineering approach.
  • Plan and organise the deployment of internal and external resource to deliver the electrical and control aspects of your project to milestones.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Aftermarket to support the successful introductions of your designs into production and the field.

What you will bring:
  • Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • A self-starter who takes personal pride in all work from start to finish.
  • Experience working in a similar position within a complex and challenging business.
  • Ideally your experience will be gained in the automotive industry and in particular; bus, coach, HGV, specialist vehicles or tier-1 suppliers.
  • We would also welcome those from mobile plan, rail and rolling stock, aerospace, marine, or other similar electrical and control systems engineering environments.
  • Strong people management and planning skills with the ability to guide a multidisciplinary team both on site and remotely.
  • Relationship building will come easily to you, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
  • A competent user of Electrical and Mechanical CAD, ideally Zuken E3 and Solid Edge respectively.
  • Strive for continuous improvement – always looking for ways to do things better.
  • Driven, curious, with a positive attitude and a can-do approach to problem solving.
  • Things can be hectic here. You will thrive on being busy and be an expert multi-tasker.
  • Generally, someone who is approachable, with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
