An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fuel Cells Business for an experienced Lead Supplier Quality Engineer in the Quality Team to lead the development and implementation of robust Supplier Quality processes to evaluate, monitor, develop and control Quality aspects of suppliers, raw materials, products and sub-contract services to JM. This role will also support the improvement of JM business systems with a view to achieving compliance with IATF16949 with respect to the Supplier Quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading development and implementation of robust Supplier Quality processes to achieve compliance with IATF16949 requirements in line with business expectations.
  • Ensuring implementation of robust Supplier evaluation and monitoring of quality performance metrics via a robust framework in conjunction with Supply Chain.
  • Performing supplier assessments to evaluate new and existing suppliers as identified through the performance metrics, including on-site audits, remote audits and review of self-assessment information.
  • Supporting the supplier development process to improve quality performance within the supply chain in line with requirements of IATF16949.
  • Management of the Material Qualification process to ensure that new raw materials and substitutions are effectively evaluated and supporting processes completed.
  • Management of the Supplier Concern process to notify supplier / raw material issues to suppliers, establish and assess action plans and confirm robust resolution in required timelines. Includes containment and disposition of affected raw material stock.
  • Development and monitoring of raw material specifications with a view to achieving supply of consistent materials and sub-contracted services.
  • Supporting Management of Change processes with respect to raw material / supplier changes to ensure appropriate tasks and assessments are completed to minimise risk of these changes.

Are you the ideal candidate?

You Will Have

  • Demonstrable extensive experience in a Supplier Quality role, including implementation and improvement of Supplier Quality processes in an IATF16949 environment
  • Qualified ISO9001 Lead Auditor, with experience of managing and executing audit schedules
  • Qualified IATF16949 Lead Auditor
  • Experience in VDA process auditing
  • Experience of quality management tools and their application (APQP / FMEA / PPAP / SPC / MSA)
