Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Flow Assurance Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:

• Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.
• Performs engineering assignments, usually representing a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes design recommendations.
• Requires mature professional knowledge in planning and conducting assignments having scope for co- ordination of difficult tasks.
• Applies specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline area.
• In consultancy businesses, may review and manages complex projects within area of expertise or of a multi- disciplinary nature
  
  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Executing Assigned Scopes of Work:

• Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering
• Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned
• Attending client meetings and acting as the focal point for FA queries raised by the client on existing and future projects.
• Ensures successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost
• Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work
• Evaluates problems, organizes investigations and establishes general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes,
• Check engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of less senior Technical Professionals

• Performs complex engineering tasks related to specific units of major
• Performing steady state and transient single phase and multiphase flow simulations for various projects (oil, gas/ condensate systems, water injection, chemical injection, H 2 , CO 2 , etc).

Supporting and Supervising task delegation to team:

• May supervise a small work group consisting of technical/professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialization to
• Assist in performing managerial tasks as requested, such as assigning tasks to engineers; planning and coordinating portions of the engineering work; preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets; attending project meetings; and developing lesser-experienced technical professionals
• Discusses with other senior engineers to agree priorities and implications on work of others
• Approves work schedules and makes recommendations for increased resources and special equipment
• Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet
• Coordinates the activities of engineering and design groups assigned to small
• Participates in developing deadlines, projects and work to be done
• May manage one or more small projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources allocation and
• Provide appropriate HSSE leadership including compliance with site and office safety requirements and technical/design safety requirements
  
  

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline, alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence
• Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred.
  
• Requires mature professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general
• Typically requires 6 to 10 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience; developing his/her area, and knowledgeable about impacts on other areas.
• Solutions-oriented and creative, able to apply process and rigour to deliver quality solutions
• Compelling communicator both verbally and in written form
• Good interpersonal and team working skills, builds positive relationships with supervisors, subordinates, peers and clients
  
• Proficient in the use of industry standard, single phase and multiphase flow software tools used for steady state and transient modelling i.e. OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPENET, LedaFlow, etc.
• Ability to provide guidance and direction to project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists.
• Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
• Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
• Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
• Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Supercritical transport experience, Dense phase Natural gas, CO 2 ;
• Midstream transport experience (especially operations);
• Network modelling (especially operations);
• Operator Flow Assurance experience;
• Technical Process and Systems Engineering experience. Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards. Technical competence in any of the following areas is desirable and of strategic importance to the team:
• Cryogenic transport experience, LNG, Ammonia, LH 2 ;
• Maintains own knowledge of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promotes to direct
• Applies mature professional knowledge and experience to assignments where issues and factors to be considered may be characterized by unsual demands and require additional evaluation to establish the nature and scope of the problem
• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs
• Demonstrated skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation and communication
• Demonstrated proficiency in project planning
