The Role


Day to day you’ll provide technical and commercial expertise along with leadership expertise to support a team of around 5 within Energy Networks.

You’ll be play a key part in the development of your team, policies, purchasing & pricing strategies, while supporting low carbon technology, Sharing your knowledge and experience in the design, management and delivery of key projects that enhance our networks ability to accommodate net zero aspirations and exceed our regulatory obligations.

Skills and Requirements


You’ll have experience in leading and managing large projects within a technical and commercial engineering environment delivering successful project efficiently.


We would also like you to have:


  • HND/HNC (or equivalent) supported by minimum of five years post-training experience in an engineering role within a utility business

  • Knowledge of Energy Networks health & safety requirements and compliance

  • Build relationships with internal and external partners to ensure that key projects / programmes are delivered efficiently, on-time and in line with the requirements of stakeholders

  • Undertake robust network design to identify optimum solutions for the connection and management of Low Carbon Technology and other loads.

  • Manages the introduction of new solutions into the business, ensuring the needs of internal and external stakeholders are met and the resulting benefits can be tracked.

  • Identification of opportunities to maximise the benefits delivered to the business and our customers by emerging technology / solutions, including robust cost benefit analysis.
