Scope:

Our client is a successful global company that provides a variety of on-site Laboratory Services to major pharmaceutical companies. As a result of continued growth and success, they now have an exciting new opportunity at a respected biotechnology customer in Oxford for a Lab Technician to join them.

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to be apart of as the lab continues to grow due to their ongoing success. You will act as a Lab Technician to assist scientists across the R&D functions allowing them to concentrate on their core roles. Primarily, you will focus on the delivery of general and technical support.

· Lab stock management

· Decontamination of incubators, water baths, cell counter, class II cabinets, water purification units etc

· Provide regular glassware and plastics collection, washing and, autoclaving/ sterilisation services (steam, dry or filtration) for the scientists to use within the laboratories

· Management of pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules

· Buffer & Media prep

· Laboratory housekeeping – tidying stock rooms and cleaning equipment.

· This role would suit a communicative team player who is wanting to go into the science industry

About You:

This position is for a communicative, enthusiastic and motivated person who is wanting to work in the science industry. You don’t need to be degree qualified for this position; my client is open to someone who has relevant science A levels (or equivalent) or entry level experience in industry (i.e. apprenticeship).

· UK driving license and own transport is needed as service is based across 2 sites (please do not apply if you do not hold a UK driving licence).

· Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)

· Good time management skills, ability to be flexible and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis

· Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills

· Experience of working in a laboratory environment and Knowledge of SHE requirements in a laboratory environment is desirable but not essential
