Our team is responsible for the managing the kinetic efficiency of our vehicles. We’re looking for someone who enjoys drawing conclusions based on simulation, analysis and test data. You’ll enjoy working alongside other departments to ensure the most efficient solutions are realised, whilst preserving the attribute balance of our vehicles

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Overall project management of Road Load delivery - > the end result being a certified road load used to calculate the Range / CO2.
  • Work with Efficiency Product Owner and programme team to determine optimum balance of component and system efficiency targets that deliver the desired vehicle efficiency whilst meeting other customer wants (Design, Dynamics, cost etc).
  • Work with commodity and attribute specialists (Brakes, Tyres, Aero etc) to understand state-of-the-art and progress efficiency opportunities.
  • Collect input data, process and report road load metrics at major gateways through the programme.
  • Project manage testing (CAE and physical) from component level through to whole vehicle. Opportunities to lead testing and support development of new methods.
  • Present Road Load status at programme meetings up to and including Chief Engineer level.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Applicants should be educated to Degree level (ideally with a focus on Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering) with relevant industrial experience.
  • Experienced in running simulation tools (e.g. ADAMS, Simulink, GT-Power, Carmaker) and drawing conclusions from the results
  • Applicants should be self-starting and motivated to deliver class leading vehicle efficiency.
  • Highly numerate with ability to analyse large, complex data sets.
  • Good understanding of engineering physics
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to form cross-departmental relationships.
  • Experience of MATLAB
