WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for an E-Cube / PCF Dimensional Engineer in the Quality Maturation Centre team. You will be responsible for supporting the E-Cube and PCF media design and manufacture phases and then plan and coordinate the E-Cube, PCF and dry build activities under the Quality Maturation Centre (QMC) umbrella for new model launches.

Dimensional Systems are responsible for all elements of Dimensional Quality; such as Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) of product design, defining and delivering the Measurement and Metrology strategy, to quality Maturation of new vehicles throughout a product launch. Dimensional systems operate from the first concepts of a vehicle programme, through to the initial 3 months of mass production.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• 
  Translation of high-level timing plans into day-by-day working documents to support the build events. Develop clear and concise day-by-day build plans and monitor delivery against the plan, identifying catch-back strategies if required
• Manage the planning and coordination of QMC events to support BiW & T&F component maturation activities
• Support and input to design reviews on media to ensure required functionality is provided
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver required project deliverables
• Interface with engineering teams at all levels to coordinate and manage the activity plan of the QMC and provide any support necessary to the team
• Provide feedback to the programme on project status (e.g. night letters / programme status sheets / presentation material)
• Identification and recording of all issues found during the build events, including raising AIMS where appropriate
• Support the implementation and monitoring of the department’s compliance with corporate initiatives / Standards (TS16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
• Support functional responses for Launch reviews, Gateway Reviews, Product Development Letters, and other functional activities
• WCPA audit metrics in line with program glide path
• Lessons learnt captured and implemented into the following vehicles and new platforms
• Build plan delivered in line with key launch milestone events

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential :

• 
  Degree / Higher National Certificate / Diploma in a relevant Engineering discipline
• General understanding of Automotive Manufacturing Processes (ideally BiW & T&F)
• General Understanding of Manufacturing Processes
• Effective Communicator; Verbal and Written
• Computer Literacy
• Self Motivated
• Problem-Solving Skills

Desirable :

• 
  Understanding of part/assembly Location Strategy Principals
• Relevant Dimensional / Tooling Maturation experience
• Metrology experience
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Six Sigma Training
• CAD Skills – Catia V5/V6
• DVA Skills – 3DCS and/or VisVSA
