The Head Teacher of a primary school in Skelmersdale is seeking to recruit a knowledgeable, proactive and engaging Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team. The position is to start as soon as possible and is long-term with the potential for a school contract in the new academic year. Working hours are 08:45 – 15:15, Mon-Fri (term-time only).The successful candidate will work across the Year 3, 4 and 5 classes to provide general classroom support and additional support to pupils with their English and Maths learning. This may be in class supporting small groups or individual pupils to achieve the whole class learning objective or involve taking small groups out of the whole class lesson for focused learning time. In order to be considered, you will need to have good subject knowledge in English and Maths. Experience of independently teaching and managing small groups of pupils is also desirable.The school is located close by to Skelmersdale town centre and benefits from a large, modern school building, as well as a secure, private car park for staff members. You will be well supported by a friendly and welcoming Key Stage 2 team.
