Responsibilities / TasksWant to contribute to a better world? #PeopleofGEAAs our GEA family is growing, we are looking for an Junior Technical Service Support to support our customers from the spare parts department, learning all elements of the role over a 2 year apprenticeship period. Progressing into service technical support, learning the many elements of our products, providing on and off site support of a mechanical and electrical nature.Reporting to our RT Components Sales and Service Director, you will be responsible for:Spare parts operation
  • Answer in coming telephone calls
  • Quote and process spare part orders
  • Package outgoing orders
  • Unpack and distribute returned items
  • Assist in the unloading of deliveries.
  • Unpack, check, and replenish stock deliveries to correct locations, this may involve manual handling.
  • Assist in maintaining the high standard of tidiness in the facility
  • Assist in stock taking
Development to service/product supportTechnical training (noted above) to enable a high standard of customer support based around the following;
  • Technical support e.g. component identification, breakdown diagnosis etc.
  • Analyse control system data to identify faults or problems
  • Quote service and maintenance parts or kits, service products and repairs etc.
  • Installation guidance, recomendations and advice
  • Ad-hoc telephone technical product support
  • Programming of in house control/automation systems for customers use
  • On site product support (company car may be made available if this develops)
  • Opportunities to travel to factories in Europe
  • Support warranty matters – component failure claims etc.
  • On site commissioning
  • Technical guidance for upgrades or replacement equipment
  • Emergency on site support
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Gloucester College
  • General knowledge and keen interest of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Keen interest in engineering, mechanical, electrical and automation
  • A teamwork orinented individual
  • Proactive approach to learning
  • Mobile – in terms of occasionally working away from home. During training in factories and site work
  • Flexible and agile – the ability to multitask etc.
