This is a fantastic opportunity for you, an experienced IT/Phone System Support Technician with leadership skills to help manage a thriving and expanding IT/Telecoms Company in Aldershot

The Role and Responsibilities

You will help our small team of apprentices resolve customers technical issues and get involved in various projects with the help of our help desk team. You will have a breadth of experience in a wide variety of IT/Telecoms technologies but the day to day roles will typically include: -

  • Use of remote tools to assist customers in troubleshooting problems
  • Help looking into and building Telecoms solutions
  • Working on a wide variety of Telephone Systems
  • Remote/onsite support and project-based work
  • Build and maintain customer and partner rapport
  • Manage technical issues, solutions and sales opportunity progress by creating cases within the company help desk system
  • Manage case escalation to maintain forward movement on customer issues
  • Ensure clear, professional communication between the team and customer
  • Create and maintain self-help documents
  • Continue education by attending training sessions and reading technical documentation
  • Working hours are 38.75 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm
  • Assist the Support team apprentices when they are stuck with various IT issues

Skills required for the IT Support Engineer Position: -

  • Strong customer service background
  • Previous experience working in IT or Phone System Support roles is essential
  • Good understanding of Cyber-Security/data protection concepts, including firewalls, antivirus, email security and multi-factor authentication
  • Networking concepts, Including Wired and Wireless Networks, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN’s and VPN’s
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and backup technologies and methodologies
  • Experience with VoIP platforms, ideally with 3CX, Telcoswitch and HVS.
  • Experience with API’s/PHP is beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of Office 365, Azure AD
