The IT Service Continuity Specialist works alongside the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Lead, ensuring Allianz can recover IT Systems to agreed SLA’s by mitigating the risk of crisis/disaster events to an acceptable level through planning and testing of IT services recovery.

The ITSCM Specialist helps to manage the integrity of ITSCM services ensuring; support staff are familiar with their roles and duties, regular testing is performed as per Allianz Group Policy, continuity requirements and capabilities are reviewed, assessed and contribute to the design of continuity mechanisms in conjunction with other Allianz IT teams such as Architecture, Application and Infrastructure Services.

The post holder is expected have a solid level of understanding in ITSCM Methodology and practices to help support the ITSCM Lead in developing and delivering strategies, processes, test plans and procedures, aligning to Allianz Group Standards

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the provision of day to day support for delivering IT service continuity plans and their periodic testing
  • Delivery of IT Service Desk Checks, DR Walkthroughs
  • Tracking and managing of any assigned Risks and Issues
  • Assisting in the scheduling and running of simulated exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of plans
  • Assisting in the running and invocation of DR Plans
  • Tracking budget spend
  • Tracking improvement action plans post DR test
    Supporting the integration of service continuity plans with the broader organisational business continuity plan (BCP) thereby avoiding conflicts and optimising available resources
    Performing business impact analysis and risk assessments to identify required actions to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage in the event of a disaster
    Designing, maintaining and communicating service continuity plans for identified business critical systems to ensure ongoing service provision during disaster or similar events
  • Supporting the ITSCM Lead in ensuring projects plan and build in sufficient DR capability during the project lifecycle
  • Monitoring and Tracking that all IT service providers (both internal and external) are providing minimum agreed service levels in the event of a disaster, or significant outage
    Assisting in the assessment of the DR impact of changes to IT Services, applications and infrastructure
  • Continual proactive identification and delivery of improvements to Service Continuity processes, procedures and capability, reacting to internal and external regulatory demand

Skill and Experience

  • Expected to have at minimum, 2 years’ experience working in an IT Service Continuity team/role
  • Have experience working in a complex Service Management environment
  • Involvement in the creation and maintenance of IT service continuity plans within a large, distributed commercial organisation
  • Experience of conducting Service Continuity Tests and management of post-test remediation actions working within the ITIL framework
