About the role
We’ve a great opportunity to join us as an IT/IS Development Manager who will lead a team of Software Engineers and Applications Developers to produce high quality digital products meeting the requirements of Product Families to support NWG to meet its strategic objectives.
In the role you’ll drive and empower the team to produce high value outputs, removing impediments and continuously striving to make the team more efficient and remove single points of failure. You’ll be supporting the Resourcing and Operations Manager in effective prioritisation and scheduling of team’s work to ensure that activities are delivered within agreed timescales.
We’re looking for you to encourage and promote knowledge transfer within the team to eliminate single points of expertise, along with effectively managing the team performance ensuring team outputs are delivered in line with team KPI’s.
You’ll be ensuring that identified training is delivered to team members in a timely manner balancing operational workloads, along with identifying efficiencies and automation within the team’s processes and workflows.
We’re looking for you to support the Head of Strategy and Product in embedding an agile/product focussed delivery culture within the team, along with establishing and maintaining relationships with the key business and technology stakeholders and driving a collaborative culture across the team, suppliers and partners.
About you
We’re looking for the successful candidate to have proven experienced in resource managing a flexible pool of professionals and of leading software engineering teams in Delivery and Support. You’ll also have experience of managing external suppliers and partners, along with contract management and procurement of services.
You’ll have proven experience in the adoption of agile methodologies and how to apply the agile mindset to all aspects of their work. Unafraid to take risks, willing to learn from mistakes and appreciates the importance of agile project delivery in NWG.
We’re looking for you to have an understanding of the different phases of product delivery and is able to contribute to and plan these, along with a proven working knowledge of ITIL. You’ll have good planning skills and use of common planning and management tools (MS Project) and Microsoft development skills for SharePoint, .Net, Web development using Web content management tools and Data Warehouse development utilising ETL tools.
